Think of all the countries the U.S. has stopped from having both nuclear power plants and weapons. So when china who has 5x the population we do becomes the world power, which is likely to happen. How are we going to handle when china or any other countries tell us what to do? Are we going to listen? And if not then why should any county listen to us? It's like charging Jillian Assange with American laws. Assange isn't an American citizen, he wasn't in America when the government charged him, he wasn't in the U.S. when the supposed crime took place. So how can we charge someone who isn't American with our laws? If that's allowed and when china becomes the world power and a U.S. citizen breaks a Chinese law are they going to be able to charge American citizens and force us to their country to face trial? If we are doing it as the world's power to non-American citizens then there is no reason any American can't be charged for breaking another countries laws. The American government has allowed this to happen in the future to all of us by the government doing it to non-citizens. That should be the real news.
