  1. Roaming radius – yup – at 12 in the early 60s I could bicycle 50 miles on a weekend, exploring anything and everything – no video games then. Roaming now? No comparison, and the pandemic truncated it even more….i can't imagine what it must be like growing up now…

  2. "I know there's a balance // I see it when I swing past." [John Cougar] There should be a science of social oscillations. And it should be taught in every school at every level. tavi.

  3. I remember life before the internet. But my internet went down earlier. And it felt horrible to be disconnected. It really is shocking how dependant we have become on technology. And now the workplace in undergoing the same revolution.

  4. i'm soooooo happy my kids are of a time when—-you LIVED a life vs—–OCCUPY a life…..people don't LIVE life the way they used to….no common sense, no problem solving skills….shoot kids today don't even know that they LEND money to someone—-they don't BORROW money to someone!!! there ARE laws, rules, regulations of the land!—-ya don't make it all up AS YOU GO ALONG to suit YOUR needs at the time….people ask me all the time—"don't you ever answer your phone????" why yes i do….IF i'm around it OR hear it in time. i was not born with a phone in my hand OR glued to my forehead so—-i have no problem walking AWAY from my phone—-FOR HOURS…..YES—-ELECTRONICALLY UNPLUGGED!!! it's a beautiful thing!!! it actually ALLOWS you the time to think and figure things out for YOURSELF……alllllll of this comes from people who TOLD us 20 some odd years ago now—-THIS is what your going to need in your future to make your life happy and full filling……is everybody happy and full filled NOW? —-asking for a friend…..

  5. 3000 hrs in a game per year…. NOOB! haha some people i know including myself have +8000 hrs in one single game divided over several years ofc.I will remember many of the moments in the game for the rest of my life and have also friends for life from this experience. We organized events, helped mod developers by giving feedback, traded, fought and a whole range of other things.Addiction in my opinion can only be used when you do something that impacts your life negativly.Losing your job because you wanna play games is not because you wanted to play games. Its because you didnt like your job in the first place.Always remember this: "The race is only with yourself" and " Do what you want to do, not what others think you should do."

  6. Not to mention I raised four kids three grandkids they're all grown and stable I went from that to this. I was completely sane. I've contacted so many people and nobody contacts me because they're in charge of the phone they're in charge of my computer they're in charge of everything and believe me I'm probably going to get some sort of benchmark for this just saying what I think. You have no idea my disabled son needs me and there's no way I would bring him around any of this. Having to self medicate because I can't even get medical attention while they're giving me the information that I have cancer possibly are you kidding me this is a nightmare nobody wants to be a team player with me and I've tried many times to come forward and speak but nobody wants to hear me so I just sit here and wait.I'm completely compliant nobody really understands what I've gone through because they saw me at my worst when I was just getting ready to start a new chapter of my life when my life wasn't bad at all.

  7. How about that Network probably feels every single other network looking at that Network and that Network can feel it.. I don't know about that network but my ears are always ringing and I have electronic harassment going on 24/7 why would I want to bring anybody into this mess I think that everybody thinks that I am completely oblivious to all of this.. I know exactly what's going on. And none of it was consented but I'm okay with it I'm still smiling I'm still happy and I've been wanting to be a part of it but apparently y'all like to watch me go crazy over here. 24/7

  8. I have never been able to study in noise, sleep with any noise, or read a book with noise. I just cannot do it. if there are two things making different loud sounds at the same time it feels like my brain is going to explode. and if I hear any kind of noise or music (there are some types of music intended for hypnosis that I can get away with but they're difficult to find!) because my brain has been trained from such a young age to play music so I think my brain makes music out of anything it can.

I think there has to be a happy medium … and I say this having experiences both just before any digital devices as we know them today existed and obviously after, and when I was in high school we had dial-up internet and AIM. AIM beeped and beeped and beeped and we talked ALL the time – that's how I got to know the guy I dated at that time (and I say that because I only mention relationships that lasted years … and even if the other person doesn't honor that time, I do.). but this was also a time during which I KNOW I learned more than at any other times, perhaps with the exception of me as a very young child. but there is a point at which it does enhance connectivity and there is DEFINITELY a point (and I don't think it's far beyond the point of connectivity) where that enhancement just becomes so hyper-everything that we see this various signs that do, very much like look like psychiatric disorders.

at any rate, I highly suggest everyone who can DOES turn his/her screens off (ALL OFF) at regular intervals.

  9. The guys story is just like mine,,, video games are my life. I grew up until about age 12 without the internet. Thinking back I used to think I had ADD but it's just my addiction to gaming. You know what's funny though, I only use the phone for some things and I'm not a huge app fan or app game fan so phones aren't as important to me partly because I was born in the early 80's so I still had that socialized growing up even though I was anti-social, lol. I still cherish the memories of playing with friends, just hanging out by the stream, fishing, swimming, having fires, smoking things…. lol. I got sucked into the phone/gaming world like a lot of people of any age though. I still remember my first phone it was a Cingular phone, tiny thing that fit into your pocket. I was fearful that phones would get smaller and smaller and my fat fingers wouldn't be able to type on them. I told my mom don't worry, soon phones will be just big screens and what happened… I wish I had known about the stock market back then I'd be telling them to invest in apple! Thankfully smart-phones came to be as many speculated. Thank goodness! I am glad we have banking, social and other useful apps but I don't use many that I don't really need. Staying connected doesn't mean you should ignore the rest of the world. We need to re-learn how to socialize and learn how to put down the devices and it starts with kids. Limiting or even keeping kids from having a phone until a certain age for instance. Strict parenting talk there but I would do it. I hope they show this program to kids to help educate them on the dangers of this way of life. that's my drive-by anonymity for now.

  10. hyper alienation is extended by hyper connection, these are not polar opposites but I suppose this fellow knows. Who are "we". I killed my face book, leave my phone at home and refuse to be better connected in a hyper alienation

  11. Its impossible to be GOOD. Only thing it does is make you miserably lazy wasting time on some worthless goal while the rich are controlling everything with tech and you have almost zero autonomy. Sollution: Destroy tech!

  12. It appears to me that the newness or the novelty of the internet is wearing off. Now we can in time start using it as the tool it was suppose to be. There is positive and negative in every aspect of all life. Now that we know the difference, we can just stand in the middle and just work with it.

  13. I prefer txt then answering the phone, I never liked the concept that someone can "summon" me when ever they want by calling me and I'm somehow required to comply with their request. My life my decision, with texting you can choose to return or not return a txt when you want. I don't want to be at any ones beck and call.

  14. The problem isn't phones it really is social media, there poison.. when I'm not at home i don't use my phone, it's not a distraction because I don't have Facebook, twitter or online games on my phone, save all that stuff for when your at home, you don't need them on your phone

  15. We already see how A-I has become our ruler and controls us by having a cellphone… imagine when humans fully embrace it and they allow themselves to be implanted with A-I as they’ve done in Europe as a means of paying for things or access to mass transit, doors.

  16. We don’t live in a DEMOCRACY OR REPUBLIC , we live in a virtual PONZI SCHEME… one thing feeds the other. E-commerce, politics, law , human interaction etc. We’re constantly taking from one to pay off other.

  17. Nothing new here, TEXTING IS JUST A NEWER VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL TELEGRAPH MESSAGING. Another recycle product of the past. That someone of today's modern era is claiming they totally invented themselves.
(Didn't watch the video just went by the introduction caption and texting picture at the beginning.)

  18. Because now we are trapping with nerd greediness like bill gates steve job mark zuckerberg..we being fool by this nerd..now elon musk the next nerd that going to fool us..they make.money by fooling us..the alpha male..ha3
