  1. Thanks so much but confused on one point. If the purpose of Dojo is to process all the driving video so that they'll end up with, well, weighings that can be used in the in-car neural nets, wouldn't that training itself require a neural net vs a procedural computer, albeit a very fast one? Unless they're running a simulation of a neural net vs an actual one. Which is orders of magnitude slower. Which might explain why they need an exeflop class machine to do it.

  2. It seems Elon is the limiting factor. He is only human and currently engaged in more cutting edge industries than should be possible. The transition of focus in SpaceX demonstrates a good trend as they move to only maintaining Falcon capability rather than spending R&D there. This is a series of companies led by R&D personified and the sky's the limit for as long as that is the case. It does make me wonder if there is a good succession plan in place.

  3. Imagine your car stalking you ?

Imagine your car saying it's tired of being bothered ?

Imagine your car refusing to be controlled ?

    Supercomputer controlled cars ?
    WOW LOL

  4. I hope they build a new operating system too. I would happy to switch to a Tesla platform. I'm getting frustrated with Microsoft's monopoly, who are incapable of fixing ongoing problems embedded in their program for decades, literally since Vista.

  5. wow this video is a gold mine of information… the new chip hardware upgrades are amazing and yes not appreciated properly. When Elon says his brain will overload, the question to ponder is when will there be a gap in free time? When he has spare time he just might work on the VTOL – speculation, could be after 2 years or less if Starship is hitting its stride early it could free up some brain capacity – possibly this is also after cybertruck finishes development. On FSD releases, regular iterations are good but for a big important release they'd want to time it nicely to fit in the schedule of other good news or save it maybe for a slow quarter.

  6. I'm really surprised Elon Musk is doing the PR himself through social media. The boss reaches directly to the customers. Something learned there. Here's my sub, your soothing tesla news delivery is now paired with my morning coffee.

  7. Welcome back Rob! I hope you had a very relaxing and rewarding time off. Thanks for the quality delivery and good summation of news of the day. A day somehow feels incomplete without it.

  8. Text today from Tesla! Update on my car order (placed June 30th, was originally scheduled 5-8 weeks): “Tesla Update – We currently expect your Model 3 to be ready for delivery 2 – 4 weeks from today. Once your Model 3 starts moving to your delivery center, we will reach out to schedule your delivery appointment.

Please note that this timeframe is an estimate and may shift in either direction.”

  9. Thanks ! That last part with the 'fishing vessel' was nice & new to me. And talking about plenty of options to move forward; Tesla's image/pattern recognition software could be put to use in fisheries management for harvest selection and automatic processing but also control purposes combined with CCTV. Helping make the planet a better place in yet another way.

  10. Depending on the design of the hardware, moving from fp16 to fp32 may have any impact on speed, just memory/storage space. Many modern graphics cards today work just about at the same speed for fp32 as they do fp64 because the chip is designed/optimized for fp64.

  11. I heard Nvidia is working on new GPU tech which basically will replace and surpass traditional CPU tech by far. Does anyone know more about this and how this compares to Teslas chips? Tks

  12. It’s unbelievable how much of a lead they have on everyone else. The prognosticators from the financial institutions can’t begin to get a grasp of all this. Nice work.

  13. Welcome back, Rob. Since China is becoming such a big part of the Tesla story, please keep a lookout for reports relating to economic conditions in China. Epoch Times and others are reporting extensive flooding and likely food shortages. Flooding has even reached Shanghai, though I haven't heard of any reports of flooding near the gigafactory. The Trump sanctions are causing major disruptions in their exports. Potential shortages of critical imported car parts and computer chips have also been reported. There are reports of large state-owned companies defaulting on their debts.

  14. Hi Rob, I got my notice to vote for my shares today. Are you going to do a video going through the proposals or at least some highlights of the most important? Welcome back and thanks for your hard work.

  15. I am by no means an expert but my thesis on why TSLA will continue to rise well beyond analysis on paper is due to many factors but one that many do not seem to be talking about. Very few companies develop a following like Elon has. It is almost cult like, but in a good way. People really believe in the WHY of the company's mission and that is to solve the world's energy problem and become self-sustainable and clean. I would guess that Tesla has more long term investors who have been slowly dollar-cost averaging in to the stock over time with the long game in mind with no plans to sell anytime soon because most believe we are only beginning to see the start of the run-up in this stock.

Combine that with passionate investors who believe in the company's mission and this leads to a supply and demand issue. Hence, it leads to fewer-and-fewer stocks being sold overall by this passionate, well informed group. Therefore, once the general public starts realizing that TESLA is less-and-less a car company and more of a robotics, software, self-driving, energy ,etc company, the demand goes up on the lower amount of shares that people are actually willing to sell. I hope this makes sense.

Respectfully, doing a price analysis on only one aspect of the company right now, cars, is missing the overall long term prospects and financials. The big unknowns such as how much profit solar, energy storage, full self driving, possible watches, apps, A/C units would bring in down the road is hard to calculate at this time. I am in it for the long game. The financial risk of putting my money on someone that wants to transition the human species to clean, sustainable energy is worth it to me. Not to mention make us an interplanetary species. This is just one investor's belief. TESLA for the WIN!!!

  16. Linpack does not measure percussion at all. It just measure how fast a computer is able to calculate the floating point value and which one can achieve the most fastest at its peak. Its a standard open source library package that is used to baseline how much power output each server is able to reach. I also wonder how there going to measure accuracy comparatively.

  17. Amazing how many irons Tesla/Elon has in the fire now. How does he have time to tweet (LOL)?
There must be a reason why Tesla has not yet released the Uber-like App to allow Tesla owners to drive their cars in a Ride-sharing App thus increasing the real-world miles they can feed Dojo when it comes fully online.
