Economics vs Finance: Which is right for you? financial economics

After posting my accounting vs finance video, I had a few of you ask me to make a video talking about economics vs finance. I also answered a few questions like “What major is the best to start a business?” and “Which major gives you the most potential and freedom?”

  1. Hi, Kaila. Could please tell about foreign degree holders, are employers biased against them? Does it depend on country when you received the degree from?

  2. I’m currently going for a major in Economics BA however I was not eligible for a finance major because I wanted to change to finance, however if my grades are better this semester I can apply for a finance minor, what advice would you give if I fail to get a finance minor, but I still have a large passion for doing finance?

  3. Hello firsat of all I want to thank you for everything 🙂 … I will graduate this year from BC and my goal is to be a professor so I'm gonna do a master and a phd, I love finance and I love economics, I don't know, what did you think is better from your perspective in real world, money, opportunity, etc.

  4. I wanted to do nursing, but recently I’ve been more interested in majoring for a career that will actually allow me to learn business and being a entrepreneur. Any advice anyone ? I’m just sort of lost in which route to take, accounting doesn’t sound fitting so I’m not really sure or idek if finance and economics is for what I’m looking for . Long story short I just want to be able to work for myself, I love the idea of a nurse but I won’t be the happiest living my life knowing I work for someone else

  5. I'm not absolutely amazing at maths, but I am quite great at it and I do enjoy it, but at the same time not the best, would you say going down one of these majors is for me?

  6. Can we still get jobs as an investment banker having a degree in economics?
And are there any minors that we have to choose to get into investment banking having economics as our major?

  7. Awesome video, full of knowledge. Thank you very much Kaila for these videos. How about choosing accounting and finance both as major and econ as minor? Is it good choice? Please advise. Thank you

  8. majority of billionaires studied economics google it!…econ for sure… the science of money!!! just add some finance electives.. like investments, derivatives and applied portfolio management..you will be good

  9. I would love if brought an economist on your channel! I think you would know the best questions to ask !! Also talking about economics and politics would be amazing! Great video btw thank you

  10. I have the exact same background that you started with. Took Micro and Macro Economics when I was 18 and got A's in it, but didn't fully appreciate it because I was set on finance.
I am wanting to go into banking or possibly investment banking and find that a lot of students at my university here that have similar interests are financial economics majors. I know that I can still get into it with finance, but I was thinking of minoring in economics. What are your thoughts?
