Animators get shit on compared to people talking in a microphone……..jesus
Voice actors directly proportional to viewers, so I am not suprised
Wow
I've heard that voice acting jobs are about 50,000 yen per half-hour animation.
Even for veterans, the most is 150,000 yen per piece.
So what kind of work do voice actors do to make money?
They make money from concerts, CDs, and events.
If a popular voice actor holds an event, more than 10,000 fans will come.
In Japan, voice actors are idols, but life can be tough for unpopular voice actors.
That was so surprising
Great video, terrible for most people that work in that industry.
Im just slightly disgusted that animators get paid so less for such hard work. No offense to the voice actors, but the money is paid way too uneven. Voice actors get paid so much just for talking (yes this is kversimplified and an understatement of what they do but you get the point) while animators spend weeks just to be underpaid and not acknowledged. Animation is arguably the most important part of anime, it's literally the reason anime is anime
How about the mangaka?
I kinda get why voice actors, ahm.. Mostly female ones, could be rich, It's not like international fans care but Japanese really are fond of paying for CDs, n Pop culture,
…but I think Japan should pass a law or something about minimum wages (So that those Production committees idiots don't eat up the quality along with the creators n Artists at work), Cuz you see Anime industry is big enough now, and creators n animators should really make little more.. Seeing how they are the main stars.
I’m confused can you elaborate is this per year per anime or like per month or week
Edit:or is it per episode perhaps
As an animator I can feel these guy’s pain

Animators play one of the biggest roles in producing anime, yet they don't receive the same profit. It's much better to join an affiliate program, you can earn money without much of a struggle. If you're interested you can join here: https://senpaimart.com/pages/affiliate. You can earn a commission and a lot more.
These days people making hentai fanart of anime characters earns more than the people actually working on the anime itself. I wonder if independent crowd-sourced anime studios are the way to go in the future.
The salary of voice actors is not high. The voice actor of the graph model is thought to be Yukari Tamura. She puts out CDs in her own name and performs concerts in many places, so her salary is high due to the royalties on CDs. This is a special case.
It is said that a general voice actor costs 20,000 to 30,000 yen for dubbing per episode.
It is normal for two radio appearances to be recorded for about 5,000 to 10,000 yen each time. At the event, 50,000 yen per event is relatively good. In Japan, it is said that 300,000 people are aiming to become voice actors, 1,500 voice actors, and 300 people can live. About 50 out of 300 people will be the top voice actors and will earn money by appearing in anime and being called for events, or earning from royalties on CDs and concerts in their own names. You can't make money from the voice actor business itself. (Google Translate)
this is so sad. to think that animators are the ones doing the hard labor.
So that’s why animation can be bad sometimes, and it’s good example: (Naruto & Sasuke vs Momoshiko) when they get double the amount I think
Why would you glorify a voice actor instead of the actual animators?? We don't say oh wow, that's a great voice. We almost always say oh wow, great animation. Also, the risk of being criticized is higher for the animators.
I hope the animators will get their fair share soon. Outsourcing can be an indication of low supply of animators, they can demand higher salaries then.
"Japanese Twitter users shocked to learn how much The Simpsons voice actors get paid," by Casey Baseel, Sora News 24, Sept 19, 2018: "Compare that to the 70 million yen (US$630,000) top-earning Japanese voice actress Megumi Hayashibara (Evangelion’s Rei Ayanami, Slayers’ Lina Inverse) reportedly earned in 2017. Hayashibara is followed by Masako Nozawa’s (Dragon Ball’s Goku) 40 million yen (US$360,000) in the anime voice acting earnings list, and third-place Ryo Horikawa (Dragon Ball’s Vegeta), the highest-earning anime voice actor, weighs in at 30 million yen (US$270,000)."
"▼ It’s unclear if the 70 million-yen figure for Hayashibara includes the earnings from her extensive work recording anime theme songs."
The article fails to mention that Megumi Hayashibara voices Ai Haibara in Detective Conan and Musashi of Rocket-dan (Jessie of Team Rocket) in Pokémon (as well as in various Pokémon games), a couple of mainstream TV anime series in Japan.
Voice actors make more than animators? Wowww
without the animator there is nothing , you better fix that japan
That's wrong. Animators need to get paid as much and I say more than voice actors.
2:49 sauce??
I feel bad for Animators at least make there salary high to $70k to $100k
Why Voice Actors have that kind of salary its so unfair..
If Animators have the salary of $70k to $100k I'm surely they are a lot of animators even today the animation improve due to salary itself ❤️
The question is why? animators are an essential part of… ANIME
Well VAs are like celebrities in Japan. Unlike in other countries where VAs are treated like shit after one project
Lol animator only get 500 to 600 $ per month so Japan is great as nation but not as society
The reason dragonball looked bad was because of scheduling. Time. Not budget, research your stuff first specially since you’re a anime news channel at least from what I see
What's the Anime that's used here?
One of the reason I want to do voice acting in Japan. I want to go to a voice acting school in japan so bad. I am currently getting a business degree in America but this is the dream.
Aight that's a bit fucked up
They earn evil money my god
